While I was casually perusing Facebook (always tempted to call it "The Facebook" circa 2004...) I came across the first picture Corey and I had taken together. We had only known each other for a little over a week or so, and had "casually bumped into each other" (i.e. orchestrated a meeting of groups so we could run into each other) after White Linen Night, thinking that our friends wouldn't catch on to how much we really wanted to see each other again. We were wrong...they totally knew. Ok, ok I know...cheesy, sappy, hush up already. But it's always fun to come across those photos of the beginning and think about how far things have come since that day. I will always hold those first few months so close to my heart, and remember them as the time during which we built the foundation for what is to come.

adele, i bow down

Adele's second album, 21, was released today and as much as I love her first album, 19,...this one just might top it. Her voice is so gorgeous and the songs are incredible, heartfelt, and speak to issues that are undeniably felt by many. It doesn't matter if you're married, single, dating, sworn off of men/women etc. etc. etc....the lyrics are like a punch to the gut of the soul. Words about love, loss, heartbreak, discovery, progress, and happiness. No matter what your status might be, they cut right to matters that everyone has experienced at one time or another but they are presented in such a way that you don't want to ignore them but rather, turn the volume up. Enlightening, beautiful, sad, joyful that the past is in the past, happy about the future and the prospect of things to come, nostalgic, and a gem to listen to...Adele's 21 is a must-download. I've had it on repeat all day.

This weekend Corey & I were blessed to be surrounded by our family and friends and "officially" celebrate our engagement with a wonderful party at his Grandparents house. Below are a few snapshots of the evening, which was an absolute blast. It was a perfect night, with lots of laughs, great food, fantastic friends, and a very lively (and hilarious) Sing-Along with Corey and his Groomsmen. Thanks to everyone who made it such a special night!

Big apologies for the major gap in posts! Things have been a little teensy bit busy between working 9 days in a row, family in town, C & I's first "official" engagement party, cheering on my family in the Rock n Roll 1/2 marathon, and generally a whirlwind week of hosting, chauffering, tour-guiding, eating, laughing, and having way too much fun.

In honor of the one day a year dedicated completely to LOVE (and I like to think of this day as one devoted to showing love to all of those people who are special in your life...not just a significant other!)
